Working as a designer at a startup means wearing many hats. Beyond developing our course catalog, I help with design projects company-wide, from social media content, to tutorial videos, to pitch decks. This content is outward-facing, so it strictly adheres to ion’s brand guidelines. First impressions never fade, so all content has to appeal to customers and investors alike. It tells the story of a values-driven tech startup that changes culture with outstanding learning content and educational design.

award-winning pitch deck

ion won the She Loves Tech 2022 North America startup competition, and came in the top 12 globally. This animated deck, which was presented nationally and globally, is an interactive motion graphics performance, working with the presenter to bring ion to life. Carefully-orchestrated timing and glossy transitions show that ion punches way above its weight.

social

Different social media campaigns give ion a public presence that scales. Templates for each type of post make it easy to stockpile content and spread it out over months.

ion platform

One common task is animating the ion.LEARN platform. It’s useful for creating video tutorials, social media content, and promotional videos showing off different features.

To make this task efficient, I recreated the platform in After Effects, making it flexible and efficient to animate. Video tutorials that took 8 hours to build from scratch now take less than 1. And changes to buttons, fonts, and colors are reflected across the template, so our content can evolve with the platform.
